Tibet immolation attempt

(NB DISCLAIMER: This article has been written in order to raise awareness and to create a vision of what could be and what China should do and say. The content sadly is not true yet. The author apologises if it offended anyone (other than the Chinese government and the CCP) in any way. On request of AllVoices, the author has issued an official apology here)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In an unprecedented announcement, President Hu Jintao of the Peoples Republic of China has announced the long-desired return of the land of Tibet to its indigenous people.

"The phased return of Tibet and repatriation of the country by its original indigenous people who were forced out in 1949 will begin in the next six months", said Wu Hong, a spokesperson for the Chinese government.

Jintao is to issue a worldwide public apology for the actions of China who invaded Tibet in 1949 and forcibly took control of its lands and people. Jintao will say that China is deeply sorry for the considerable damage the nation has caused to the Tibetan landscape, through mining activity and the dumping of nuclear waste in former areas of natural beauty.

As part of the return of Tibet to its independent status, China will release a large number of politically imprisoned Tibetans from its concentration camps, including the Panchen Lama who was imprisoned as soon as he was recognised at age 6. China will additionally cease all harvesting of human organs from political and state prisoners with immediate effect.

China will provide grants of several million Yuan in reparation funds to re-establish the Tibetan language in its schools and pay for the restoration of the many monasteries it has destroyed throughout the last 62 years.

The phased return of Tibet will begin with the repatriation of more than 1 million Han Chinese back to China, who were moved there by the communist government shortly after it invaded Tibet. All of China's Tibet-based troops will withdraw from Tibet simultaneously, bringing a new found freedom for Tibetans who will be able to live and express their culture once more.

Jintao is also expected to issue an unreserved apology to the Dalai Lama for the lifetime exile he was forced to undertake and the constant attempts to undermine and criticise his standing in the world. Alongside the Dalai Lama, Tibetan premier, Lobsang Sangay will relocate to the former seat of Tibetan power in the Potala Palace in Lhasa.

A new peace will spread in Tibet as it restores itself as the centre of Buddhist culture and learning in the world. "We can give a lot to the world and help many nations to grow and develop a philosophy of peace and positive action for the environment", said Tibetan Lama Kelsang Dhondup, interviewed recently. "We are glad to have this vision of China's exit from Tibet and the return of Tibet to its people once again. This will herald the growth of a new world based on humanitarian goals instead of short-term financial profit, which we know people do not take with them when they leave this world."

China plans to raise a memorial to all those Tibetans who self-immolated in the cause of justice in Tibet as part of its goal of making sure human rights abuses never happen in its land again. A spokesperson for the CCP regime said "taking this action will save China's reputation in the world as well as a great deal of money that is spent on security forces, concentration camps and control in Tibet."

Unfortunately all of the above is highly unlikely to happen with China in its current regime. Perhaps it will be so if democratic elections move forward at some time in the future. To date Hu Jintao and people like him have masses of blood on their hands.

(NB: This article was written in order to raise awareness and to create a vision of what China should say. The content sadly is not true yet. The author apologises if it offended anyone in any way.)

If we know anything from history, we know governments lie. All of them regardless of ideology or culture. How do you reconcile the atrocities China committed against Tibetans ONLY 2 DAYS AGO with today's uncharacteristic and dubious declaration of good will, apology, admission of wrong-doing, and promises to immediately and simultaneously swap out the Han Chinese currently in Tebet with now-jailed Tibetans?

You cannot accept this claim by China until it has been enacted and completed.

Even then, you must know that it wiil be some time before China's true strategy behind the claim (and any actions that may follow) are revealed. More than likely it will be as they show the mighty hand we've allowed them to create, but that will be the end of Western=European world leadership and the start of global Communism under China's iron fist.

Look at the facts!

Well said NuWrldVies !!!I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them!!!ACTIONS HAVE ALWAYS SPOKEN MUCH LOUDER THAN MERE WORDS IN MY BOOK!!!!
Posted By Torquil Torquil | 6 months ago
As the author I also do not trust them and the West should not. Yet the CCP really do not know what the effect of their actions are, other than terror and control. If they really knew what they were doing they would stop immediately and perhaps the above story would come true. Lobsang Sangay, the Tibetan premier for the Tibetan government in Exile, recently quoted Martin Luther King who said "the arc of history is long but it bends towards justice". One day Tibet will be free and the above will manifest. The CCP will die. Already it is faltering, losing its values - leaning towards capitalism for example, focusing on money. All these attempts to forcibly control people in Tibet, among the Muslim Uigyurs, those who practise Falun Gong and other group; are the last spasms of a dying body trying to hold onto its life. Yes it had a 30 year plan, but there are already seeds of change in China. New political parties. New ideas. Like winter goes and spring comes, China's CCP will fall away in time.

Is this real! please tell me it, my whole family would be happy if it is, this is better than a billion $ please tell me its real :S
Reply By Torquil Torquil | 6 months ago
I am sorry but it is not real. I have written it this way to raise awareness more widely about the Tibet issue and to make people really think. It is also supposed to provide a vision for the future. I hope Hu Jintao himself reads it. I hope it comes true in time. As the Kalon Tripa said, when he quoted Martin Luther King who said "the arc of history is long but it bends towards justice".

Keep writing these. It's awesome. I wrote some about Bush 6-7 yrs ago but didn't have the tech know-how or team to post them.

Torquil, I couldn't know for certain, but my instincts told me that the story was, at the very best, propaganda planted by Jintao to distract the world from his international machinations. That China is methodically designing a global power-grab is clear. Why the people of the world don't recognize that the Tibet's fate awaits us all.

China is NOT a Tibetan-only issue. China is the greatest threat to freedom and people and thinking and life.

You are brilliant in writing this story and I thank you!!

Actually writing these kind of imagined stories are exactly what we all need to do. I say well done! This is using your imagination, something we all need to do more of to tap into our greater power to change the world into a world we prefer. We have that power through our imagination. I am very glad you did this. Please continue and it will happen. There are writers out there finding that whatever they write about starts happening in their life, it is magical.

All of my facebook friends shared this story, thinking it was true. This is really messed up! The people who are aware of Tibet are the ones that care enough to read this article. I read this to my mom and we both actually cried in JOY because this is such and important issue for both of us. I feel emotionally manipulated. You should put a disclaimer at the beginning of the article. This is bad journalism and is just plain mean spirited in my opinion! Arrggghhh!!
Reply By HC113 HC113 | 6 months ago
That is very similar to what happened to me, Grace. I think you said it perfectly. The people who would care are the people who are aware. The emotional manipulation many of us have experienced because of this article is violating. Posting the disclaimer at the end after it is shared after thinking it is real is also violating.

Torquil, if you want to raise awareness, there is a possibility that writing about the atrocities that Tibet and its people have faced, or even sharing information about it that has already been written is certainly an effective way to raise awareness with INTEGRITY.
Reply By HC113 HC113 | 6 months ago
I think this will spread misinformation more than raise awareness unfortunately. It had me, and in tears too... and now I'm irked that this article is called reporting. This kind of "story" is no better than how the mega media uses the information highway to confuse what is really going on.

Until Tibet becomes the concern of people everywhere, there is no hope. While there may be better methods for generating conversation, Torquil has brought attention to Tibet. Not even the constant reports of China's brutality to Tibetan protestors aroused as much outrage.

Wishful thinking requires a catalyst to become Real Action.

Think about it.

No, unfortunately it's not true. It's only wishful thinking! :-(

Wishful thinking is not news.

Thanks for all the comments above. My sincere apologies to anyone it has upset or offended when they discovered it was not really happening. This is a small price to pay if the article gets the world thinking.

This article aims to provoke thought and gain attention for the issue. I agree China presents huge issues for world freedom and peace generally.
The issues in the report are not entirely wishful thinking. They will begin to manifest once democracy manifests in China. There are other political parties in China that are gaining support. Chinese intellectuals oppose the CCP's draconian ways. The revolution will happen inside China slowly.
As Martin Luther King says: "the arc of history is long but it bends towards justice".

Thanks NuWrldVies for understanding my motivation and aims. I really appreciate your support.

I have also to thank for inspiration the two incredible guys entitled "The Yes Men", who have used similar approaches to place important issues high on the agenda.
Anyone interested in their work can read about it here:

WOW BS! i thought this was real, i mean aren't journalist suppose to write about things that are actually happening in the world?
Reply By Torquil Torquil | 6 months ago
Well, not always. we can use our skills to raise important issues too. If all I wrote about was the problems in Tibet nobody would really look at the issue - see my earlier reports. This approach enables me to get the world to actually notice the Tibetan issue and to realise the true danger of CCP-ruled China. The only reason the West does not confront China much over Tibet is because CCP-China now has money. That's it. Plain and simple. So this article is to raise awareness.
Reply By KateBee KateBee | 6 months ago
I think your 'skills' need refining if that is the case. Mostly it has been shared amongst people who already have awareness of the situation in Tibet. I see you have now added the word PARODY to the title. I understand your explanation, but it really didn't work as a journalistic exercise..the comments make that more than clear
Posted By cythandra066 cythandra066 | 6 months ago
I'm sorry, but what you've done is not only foolish but piss poor journalism. You've done nothing to raise awareness the issue of Tibet, to me. What you've done is shown me that this site is total joke when it comes to any kind of accurate information or news. You have not offended me, so don't feel the need to apologize. You're not sorry for what you did here, or you would not have done it. I would have had more respect if you had used your skills in a much better way instead of writing a false news story. A well written fiction story based on current events I could at least appreciate and that would raise awareness equally as well. I can say you are successful in one way, I have no interest in reading anything else you have to write.

well i was really bummed out when i got to the last sentence. i don't really think it's right to pretend that someone has announced something when they haven't, so i'm not sure how i feel about the way you have portrayed this article. on the other hand i am now thinking about the chinese and the tibetan people and maybe if i keep imagining that the chinese president says this then one day it might happen,,,,i still believe in miracles.......
Reply By tibetplease97 tibetplease97 | 6 months ago
EXACTLY! Thats what i'm saying too.

Sorry, Torquil, you cause much harm. Many read briefly and re-post as fact. They support your cause. And then fact-checkers show them to be duped. That hurts you far more than the exposure helps as they lose their credibility. Do some deep thinking and realize that writing fiction carries risks.

"Many read briefly and re-post as fact."

Very true. which is why I think Torquil did a good job here. At least this might end the stupid practice of facebooking/tweeting/redditing everything we come across without actually reading it.
