5 killed, 7 injured in LI, TTP clash

LANDIKOTAL: At least five militants were killed and seven other injured when two banned militants groups LI and TTP exchange heavy fire on each other positions in Tor Daramina area of Kukikhel tribe in Tirah valley of Jamrud tehsil, local sources said on Wednesday.

The sources said that heavy firing was continued for the last twenty-four hours between Lashkar-e-islam and TTP at different areas of Kukikhel Jamrud tehsil. Five people have also been abducted from the Tor Daramina, however, the sources said, that names and affiliation of the abducted could not be ascertained due to poor communication system in Tirah valley.

When assistant political agent Jamrud, Muhammad Jamil, was contacted told The News that only four people have so far killed and three persons injured in the clash between LI and TTP. He said that people have started vacating the area and shifting their families to other safe areas in Jamrud tehsil and


The prolonging clashes between LI and TTP in Tirah valley had made the life worse which had created foods and other commodities shortages for the local people, the sources added. Janas Khan, a resident who recently displaced from Tirah valley in living in Peshawar, told The News that both sides use heavy guns at the each other positions and fire mortar shells but a large number of shells hit the houses and killed dozens of innocent people including children and women. He said that due to clashes in different areas people faces difficulties to find safe way to leave the area.
