Whale and Dolphin Massacre in Faroe Islands of Denmark

Grindadrap is on traditional whaling people's Faroe Islands, Denmark. On this day hundreds of whales are hunted andslaughtered.

Whales caught will be moved into the bay and then cut to the spine and slowly bleeding to death. The whaling carry non-commercial purposes, whale meat and fat are divided amonglocal people.

Close on the Faroe Islands are an autonomous province of Denmark, which allows whaling. Whale meat and fats from foodhas become indispensable in the daily menu of local people.

Despite receiving much criticism from animal protection organizations and the Committee of international whaling, but stillthousands of whales killed each year mainly in the summer.
