The police in the city of Guadalajara in Mexico are baffled at the discovery of at least 26 dead bodies of young men and left at a busy intersection. These are believed to be murders carried out by the drug land mafia. These men aged between 25 and 35 had been asphyxiated, some did not have any clothes on them and some were marked with the words ‘Zeta’ and ‘Milenio’ on the bodies –these names are the names of notorious drug gangs.
The Guadalajara Book Fair, a major international event is scheduled to be held in this city for 9 days from 26th of November 2011. This would be attended by literary personalities like Nobel laureates Mario Vargas Llosa and Herta Muller.
Only the previous day, charred remains of 17 men were found in the city of Culiacan in Sinaloa state.
