President Barack Obama welcomed the agreement signed by the Yemeni President, Ali Abdullah Saleh to leave office after more than 30 years in power.
Obama urged all parties to enforce the settlement, said Yemen would allow progress to a more secure and prosperous future.
Under the agreement signed in Saudi Arabia, Saleh agreed to hand over power to his vice president, after nine months of protests.
Thousands of people in the capital Sana'a, celebrated the news, but others rejected the deal, which would grant immunity to the president.
