FIAM 2011 - highlight

One thing is true about the State of Amazonas in Brazil, it is deeply concerned with sustainable development. The whole state is inside the Amazon region so their concern is important and really necessary.

I was in Manaus last month for FIAM 2011. Visitors had at their disposal 400 exhibitors distributed in 228 booths to present products and services geared for commercial and industrial sectors, as well as institutional projects, and a wide range of products manufactured from raw materials of the Amazonian biodiversity: handicrafts, food, phytotherapy, phytocosmetics and furniture, among others.

During the four days event there was also a panel for Creative Business. SUFRAMA, the institution responsible for the organization of the show, set up a comission to receive and choose 15 project to be presented to investors visiting Manaus and FIAM. Hundreds projects were submitted.
