Couple has Star Wars Wedding with Yoda Presiding

A pair of 36 year olds, Rebecca D' Madeiros and Bill Duda, spent 9 months planning a Star Wars themed wedding. They were finally married in their backyard with all their friends and family dressed as characters associated with the science fiction series.

Duda, a school teacher, explains that since both him and Madeiros were die-hard fans of the series, it made total sense. He was especially thrilled to be married off by someone dressed as Yoda who had recently obtained his marriage license off the Internet. The ring was presented by a radiant Princess Leia sporting a gold bikini. The couple itself chose to dress as Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar. It was led out from the house by a team of Imperial Stomtroopers.

The 70 or so wedding guests had paid up to 500 Pounds Sterling to get their costumes in order. Some suggested that a division of guests between Jedis and the Empire would have added some flavor to the event. But for the most part, Jedis and Empire members alike seemed to revel in the once in a lifetime opportunity for intergalactic celebration.
