After reading Martin Kloess's poems I was inspired to try my hand again at writing haiku. I have not done so for decades. But here goes number one to start again. A haiku is a Japanes form. Although not exactly what the form intended standard haiku in English often have three lines with 5, 7 and then 5 syllables. This is actually 4, 7, 4 . Traditionally the subject was nature.

Wind lifting limbs

In the spruce chickadees flit

Snow drifting down
