
Church of the Vatican will take legal steps to stop the spread of new products Benetton ad, which shows a photograph of Pope Benedict was kissing with a Muslim Imam. The Vatican has given instructions to their lawyers to do everything they can within the law to stop the spread of the ad.
"Advertising is not only destroy the prestige of the institution of the papacy but also hurt the heart of Catholicism. So we felt the need to stop the spread of these ads included in the media," said Vatican spokesman, Rev. Federico Lombardi was quoted as saying by Reuters on Friday, (18 / 11 / 2011).
The Vatican considered that the ad is an insult to the institution of the papacy and also seen how money can make some party justifies any means. "This is a tangible proof of how advertising justifies any means to attract attention, including a provocative manner," he explained.
Meanwhile, in a statement, the Benetton tried to defend himself by stating the purpose of these ads is to combat all forms of hatred throughout the world. However, the Benetton decided to repeal the ad after receiving strong protests from the Vatican.
Another photo shows some of the world leaders kissing each other. One photograph shows U.S. President Barack Obama were kissing with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
