China's crackdown of counterfeit drugs

Fake Drug Website Crackdown In China



On 17/11, AFP reported from leading Chinese Ministry of Public Security said in the latest crackdown, authorities have seizedfake drugs worth $ 2 billion yuan (315 million USD, or more than6.6 trillion) in the country.

Police also arrested 1,770 suspects and closed more than 1,400establishments producing or selling fake drugs. According toXinhua, the suspects allegedly used the banned substances for drug, repackaging expired drugs and stealing more than 100brands of pharmaceutical brands in the country.

Most of the counterfeit drugs are sold over the Internet or provided for clinics, pharmacies and illegal activities. According to the Ministry of Public Security of China, to use counterfeit drugsare dangerous, may be diseases like osteoporosis, diabetes,duodenal ulcers or gastrointestinal disease. In addition, a number of counterfeit drugs is likely to cause damage to kidneys or liver.
