Second Spanish team photographed making 'slit-eyed' gesture...

Looks like the Spaniards have pissed of the Chinese hosts by posing for a pre-game advertisement making "slit-eyed gestures." Both the Men's and Women's basketball teams posed in full Olympic gear on a basketball court decorated with a picture of a Chinese dragon. Every single player appears pulling back the skin on either side of their eyes. The ad is for the official sponsor of the Spanish Basketball Federation, a courier company. The full-page ad ran in the sports sections of the daily Marca, which is the country's largest newspaper.

Interesting that no one involved in the decision-making paid any attention to neither the ad nor the inappropriate nature of the gesture. It will be interesting to see how the Chinese Basketball team reacts to them if they get an opportunity to play against each other. Some locals have already taken offense.
