The deforestation in the Amazon rainforests is threatening the ecosystem. The Amazon rainforests which are the largest among the tropical rainforests are being disturbed by the human activities for development in the region. The broad varieties of animal species that are inhabitants of the natural environment in Amazon are facing the danger of extinction. Also the plants and trees that are being destroyed might lead to imbalance in the climate of the place as well as rest of the world.

Amazon rainforests are located in South America and a number of countries own the territory. The forests are being continuously cut down to spare land for agriculture and cultivation of specific crops and also the infrastructure development has eaten up the greenery of the land. Also large areas are being allocated for cattle farms that are created by cleaning up the dense forest.

The increasing number of hunters is also damaging the wild life that is beauty of the forest. Animals and birds are being caught and hunted from the region making the life of the wild animals threatened by these hunters all the time. Another challenge that the wild life in Amazon faces is the destruction of their homes as trees are being cut to obtain wood.

The temperature in the Amazon forest is usually high as it is located near the equator. The climate is therefore hot and humid. These climatic conditions are favorable for the growth of the forest and the animals and birds are well settled with the climate of the region. The human interruption is causing change in the climate which will disturb the wild life. Also the animals and birds which are being transferred to other parts of the world cannot survive in the different climate as they are adapted to the atmosphere in Amazon.

The forest provides a shelter for a wide range of animals, from tiny ones to the giants. Everyone finds a secure place to live and the plenty of food to eat. The plants also range from herbs to tall trees. Every thing has a balance in the ecosystem.

Forests which are a valuable resource of the planet need to be preserved and the wild life that is a gift of nature deserves a gentle attitude from mankind. The laws and regulations regarding forests are required to be made stricter to retain the balance of nature. These laws are being ignored and greater loss is being done for a temporary benefit. The international organizations are now creating awareness about the affects of deforestation and initiating steps to conserve this important component of the earth.
