Fight against drug mafia in Mexico takes a beating

It was a black day for the drug fighters in Mexico when a helicopter crashed in the Morelos state near Mexico City killing interior secretary Francisco Blake Mora, and deputy minister Felipe Zamora.

Blake Mora was a key figure in the fight against the drug mafia in Mexico. There were eight others killed in the ill-fated chopper.

It seems the weather was bad and an accident cannot be ruled out but the investigators are looking at all possibilities and keeping all options open. Co-incidentally, there was an earlier similar chopper crash in Mexico City on 4th November 2008 when a previous interior minister Juan Camilo Mourino had lost his life. Hence, sabotage is not ruled out …
