Irish writers have suffered shamefully over the years under British neo-colonial crucifying censorship laws in both Irish scum states .Many of the writers like., Beckett, Kavanagh, Flann O'Brien fought against the effects of state censorship but most Irish writers had to emigrate to get their works published. One would think that with today's internet access things would have changed.
Still today censorable are newspapers, articles and magazines where the Censorship of Publications Board reviews newspapers and magazines are referred by Customs and Excise and by complaining members of the public which are often West Brits.
The listing of periodicals under permanent banning orders includes many politcal publications which have to be sold under the counter or shared secretly. West Brits in Dublin City Council banned posting for six days in May 2011 for the state visits of Elizabeth II of Britain. The ban was aimed at left-wing parties, republicans and environmental campaigners. Again in Dublin one public house owner who erected a large poster stating that the "British Queen" was not welcome was ordered by West Brits to remove it and was threatened that the pub would lose its licence if he didn't comply.
Even Indymedia Ireland has censored thousands of articles since its creation in Ireland, that oppose British Occupation or Child rape in Ireland. Below is just one example along with a link to other articles all banned despite Indymedia in every other country in the world publishing them on a regular basis eithout any problem what so ever.
What is not trapped or censored by the likes of Indymedia Ireland or other British compiant Irish media, is interfered with and slowed by British intranets. Here is just one of thousands of articles by Irish writers removed by Indymedia Ireland while West Brit articles have priority in the so called Irish media.
