6.9 magnitude earthquake hits Northeast Taiwan

A magnitude 6.9 earthquake hits Northeast of Taiwan early morning Tuesday. The temblor occurred on November 8 at 11:59am local time and was centered about 310 miles northeast of Taiwan’s capital city of Taipei about 136 northeast of Naha, Okinawa.

215 km (133 miles) NW of Naha, Okinawa, Japan

361 km (224 miles) NNE of Ishigaki-jima, Ryukyu Islands, Japan

500 km (310 miles) ENE of TAIPEI, Taiwan

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not issue any alerts and no reported damages. But the residents in Taiwan expect additional earthquakes as aftershocks.
