The Adolphe Bridge was named after the Grand Duke Adolphe, who ruled the country between 1890 and 1905. Also called “The New Bridge” by the locals, this structure is not in fact new since it was build more than a hundred years ago, between 1903 and 1905. The nickname was given to the bridge in comparison with another, which is 40 years “older”. The Adolph Bridge was built by French architect Paul Séjourné, in collaboration with Luxemburger Paul Rodange.http://lookbridges.com/adolphe-bridge-in-luxemburg-city-luxemburg
