Officials in Nigeria have found the government's payroll is called a one-month-oldbaby.
The name of a newborn baby has been found in the list of the council payrollZamfara state government, southern Nigeria. The incident took place during the inspection to eliminate "ghost employees" in the labor force.
"The salary list, this baby has a national diploma," said Garba Gajam, commissioner of Zamfara state law says.
According Gajam, this finding shows that the current popular trend in the local government agency when the official declaration of the name of his wife and childrentheir payroll.
In August, the name of a 5-month-old baby were found in the payroll of another agency, forcing the government to open an investigation.
"We have found that the incident reflects the serious levels of corruption at the locallevel of government," AFP quoted him Gajam.
The official declarations will be refunded the full amount and indicted on charges ofembezzlement.
Zamfara is one of 12 Muslim states in northern Nigeria have adopted Sharia Islamic law, regulation, tight wrist criminals steal. However, no one has been tried for corruption in the Sharia court in the state since the criminal code was re-establishedin 1999.
