For their Halloween episode “Dancing with the Stars” went all out with decorations, costumes, music, and dances that host Tom Boo-geron called spooktacular. The announcer announced the program was “Dead from Hollywood” as bats flew about the Ballroom.
The festivities got started a little later than usual since Shrek and his friends had a 30 minute Halloween special first. Along with the six individual dances this week the couples formed teams which would be added to their scores this week.
Starting the night’s performances off were David and Kym with a Cha Cha to Steve Miller’s “Abracadabra”. David enlisted a little magical help for his performance this week and almost got tangled up in his spider web. Len said David has turned himself into a dancer; adding that David’s footwork was good and overall it was well done. Bruno said David’s top lines were very good and Carrie Ann said David’s improvement was phenomenal; adding that he was getting polished. David and Kym scored 24 points for their Cha Cha.
JR and Karina performed a Tango to the theme from “Ghostbusters”. Bruno called it another solid performance; but noted that the timing was hard and JR lost it a bit. Carrie Ann also noted that there was a little slip but though JR captured the tone very well. Len noted that over the past few weeks JR has set a very high standard and this dance was sub-standard for JR. JR and Karina scored 25 points for their Tango.
Nancy and Tristan performed a Jive to the Charlie Daniels hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”. Carrie Ann said this week was not so good for Nancy and she lost it a few times. Len agreed that it wasn’t a good dance for Nancy; saying it went wrong and a disappointment for him. Bruno said either the devil got Nancy or her shoes were too tight; adding that her footwork was devilish. Nancy and Tristan scored 21 points for their Jive.
Rob and Cheryl performed a Tango to the theme from “The Addams Family”. Rob got an early start on his Halloween antics by enlisting the help of JR to prank and scare Cheryl. Len said Rob did a terrific job and had good footwork. Bruno said Gomez Addams was the master of the house but cautioned Rob on his bum saying there was nothing wrong with a bum as long as you knew what to do with it. Carrie Ann said her favourite part was when Rob started dancing with Mortitia and ended with cousin It. Carrie Ann called it Rob’s best dance. Rob and Cheryl scored 25 points for their Tango.
Ricki and Derek performed the Paso Doble with Ricki dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and Derek as the wolf. Ricki injured her rib during a rehearsal. Bruno called the performance a blizzard of passion and fear but cautioned Ricki on her shoulders. Carrie Ann said Ricki’s shaping was gorgeous and also cautioned Ricki about her shoulders. Len said Ricki’s shapes were fantastic and she had precise footwork. Ricki and Derek reclaimed the top of the leader board with 27 points.
The last individual performance of the night was a Samba from Hope and Maks. Maks injured a toe dancing and enlisted the help of Teddy from the DWTS Troupe members to teach Hope the dance. To get Hope in the spirit for Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London” he came into the rehearsal hall dressed as a werewolf. Carrie Ann said it was nice to see Hope having fun and it was a better quality of dance. Len said Hope coped well with a difficult dance and complimented the costume, makeup, and hair department for their work this week. Bruno said that Hope danced as if her life depended on it; and noted that she had better timing and a better finish. Hope and Maks scored 24 points for their Samba.

After the results show last week the two couples at the top of the leader board chose their team members. JR and Karina, David and Kym, and Nancy and Tristan made up Team Tango. Ricki and Derek, Hope and Maks, and Rob and Cheryl formed Team Paso.
Performing a “Disturbia” Tango, Team Tango went first. Complete with straightjackets, a cage, and some wicked facial expressions. Len said the group portions of the dance were excellent but once the couples performed their solos it was a disaster. Bruno and Carrie Ann agreed with Len. Team Tango scored 23 points for their performance.
Team Paso Doble came out of the mist to perform a Paso Doble that host Tom Bergeron called a great way to end the night. Bruno called the performance powerful and dramatic with a build to a big finish. Carrie Ann called the performance poetic and powerful and Len said the dance was well done noting that Rob kept up with Derek and Maks. Team Paso Doble scored 26 points for their performance.
