Kenya sends in army to go after militants in Somalia

The US state department has officially confirmed the kidnapping of a 32-year old female aid worker – she is a US national.

Somali gunmen had apparently kidnapped her along with two of her colleagues, one a Danish (60-year old male) and the other a Somali local (a 20-year old school teacher), as their convoy was on its way to the airport.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the kidnapped trio are being taken to a secret location on the coast in Gan town, a pirate stronghold and would be held till the ransom is realized.
