The Unwanted Reality is East High Graduate Goran Rahim’s third collection of poetry in English language. Goran Rahim attended East high School where he graduated in 2002.

Rahim is originally from north of Iraq which he calls "Kurdistan". Kurds are the largest ethnic group without a country.

Goran Rahim started to write poetry in Urdu language while he was a refuge in Pakistan after he fled Saddam’s Iraq in 1988.

“One of my East High English teacher encouraged me to write in English, which was very hard at the time”. said Rahim. Receiving an A on his poem in that class gave him confidence to continue to write in English.

Starting the journey from East High, now Rahim is a published author of English poetry. “I believe in reality , that is why I write about reality even if it is the unwanted reality” commenting on the title of his collection.

His book is available in selected Barns and nobles book store around the nation and in the website of the bookstore.

Now Goran Rahim is residence of Northern Virginia. He said, “ I do visit Erie every year, because Erie is my hometown.”
