According to reports, the copy of the testament was entrusted to three of his relatives. One was killed, the second was arrested and the third managed to escape.
In his will, Gadhafi urges his supporters to continue resistance. He added that despite many opportunities to sell out his cause and lead a "stable life," he chose to fight "as a badge of duty and honour."
Gadhafi also requested that his family be treated well after his death.
According to BBC News, the will was handed over to three of Gaddafi's relatives and one of which managed to escape the last battle field of Sirte; while one was killed in fighting and the other is arrested by revolutionary fighters.
The English translation of the document reads as follows:
"This is my will. I, Muammar bin Mohammad bin Abdussalam bin Humayd bin Abu Manyar bin Humayd bin Nayil al Fuhsi Gaddafi, do swear that there is no other God but Allah and that Mohammad is God's Prophet, peace be upon him. I pledge that I will die as Muslim.
