Cm declares ‘November' as ‘welfare month'
Anantapur(Andhra Pradesh), Oct., 21: The Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy declared November as month of welfare as series of welfare schemes taken up during the period.
Speaking at meeting in Rayagurda after launching Indira Jala Prabha at Been Halli village and laying a foundation stone for new railway line between Rayadurg and Thumkur, the Chief Minister stated that it was remarkable day in the history of Rayadurgam area that the launching of railway work worth Rs 1,000 crores and laying of foundation stone to Rs 1100 crores have taken place at a time. He informed that Re 1 per kg rice would be implemented from November that benefit over one crores poor families in the state. He also announced that the second phase of Racchabanda would be taken up from November 2 and 25 lakh new ration cards and six lakh pucca houses would be extended to the eligible applicants during the programme.
He reminded that the Government was extending interests free for crop loans up to Rs one lakh rupees bank loan. He reminded that the government has setup a women bank with Rs 1,000 crores for the empowerment of the women.
He also claimed that it was target to fill up 1.6 lakh jobs in various departments in this year that constituted 10 percent of total government staff. Efforts were also on to provide employment to 15 lakhs youth in the next five years under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu and five lakh jobs in this year alone. He also announced Rs 50 lakhs for development of roads in Rayadurgam.
He also interacted with the SC/ST land holders on this occasion. Under Indira Jala Prabha, 10 lakh acres of SC, ST lands would developed and bring into cultivation by spending Rs 1,800 crores. One lakh bore wells would be dug and system for refill of the bore well in rainy season would be setup by spending Rs Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 each, he added. With mirco and drip irrigation system, the SC., ST lands would be brought under cultivation.
Reacted to the request of the local people, the Chief Minister directed the District Collector to extend one cow to each SC, ST family, whose lands were developed under Indira Jala Prabha. Based on the performance in mild production, the officials would extend second cow to them, he added.
The Union Minister for Railways, Mr Dinesh Trivedi announced two new rails between Rayadurgam to Tirupati and a new railway line from Rayadurga to Puttaparthi. He exuded confidence that the state government would take care of land acquisition for the new railway line.
