A mild earthquake of 3.9 magnitude on the Richter scale shook the San Francisco area in the state of California, USA, on Thursday afternoon.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the quake's epicenter was located near the city of Berkeley.

San Francisco police said that until now no reports of damage or injuries.
