These are the results of the third round of the Champions League:

In Group A, Manchester City won 2 to 1 at the Spanish club Villarreal, with a goal from Sergio Aguero defining additional time.

Meanwhile, Manchester United managed their first win in Group C by winning 2-0 at Romanian team Otelul Galati, with two penalties from Wane Rooney. Both teams finished with 10 players each.

Real Madrid swept Olympique Lyon 4-0, in a third consecutive victory that leaves them top of Group D. The goals came from Karim Benzema, Sami Khedira, Mesut Ozil and Sergio Ramos.

In other results, the Ajax Amsterdam won 2 to 0 at Dinamo in Croatia, Italy beat Inter 1-0 at Lille in France, while Naples and Bayern Munich drew 1-1 and Benfica of Portugal won 2 to 0 at Basel in Switzerland.
