Liberia heads for second-round vote

Liberia : Came third in the first round of presidential elections with 11.8% of the vote, former warlord Prince Johnson said Tuesday its support for the outgoing President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to the second round, Nov. 8. Former Liberian warlord Prince Johnson, who came third in the first round of presidential elections in Liberia, said Tuesday that he would support the outgoing President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf in the second round on November 8.

With 44% of the vote, co-winner of 2011 Nobel Peace beat Winston Tubman, the second with 32.2% of the votes after counting of almost all of the ballots.

Prince Johnson received 11.8% of the vote.

"I support President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf in the second round," said the former rebel chief Reuters by telephone.

"This is because some parts of the program is good for the country. If the whole program is not good, we will make additions and subtractions to what we want to be integrated," he said.
