A killer suspected of cannibalism is being hunted on the pacific island of Nuku Hiva.

Local guide Henri Haiti is being hunted by police for the certain killing of German round-the-world yachtsman Stefan Rami 40.

The yachtsman was sailing round the world with girlfriend Heike Doasch 37 nd arrived in their catamaran mid-september.

Reports in Germany state Stefan went missing when he went on a goat hunt with the guide Haiti.

Heike went looking for Stefan when the guide returned and told Heike there had been an accident and he needed help.

Instead of helping Heike it is reported he took her captive, tied her to a tree and put her through a sex ordeal. Hours later she managed to escape and alerted the authorities.

It was a week before Srefan's remains were found in a remote valley. In the ashes of a fire bones, teeth and melted teeth fillings were found.

In this day and age it appears to be ill-advised embarking on such a venture as this german couple had done. Piracy and terrorism constantly occurring on the high seas and the Pacific is a vast and very lonely ocean.
