Dellis Cay-The Dancing of Colors

One of the top news from this week is my meeting with Mr Tony Blair, the Legend Premier from UK and his lovely wife Mrs Cherie Blair in Istanbul during an event, organized by Prof. Ulke Deniz Aribogan at Bilgi University,a member of Laureate International Network.

It was unforgettable moments,to chat again with Premier Tony Blair and his wife about Turks and Caicos Islands and Dellis Cay ,to refresh very nice memories of them and me about this stunning islands in Caribbean. Since this chat I am in deeply thoughts about, how this great man,as UK Premier, would manage current chaos in Turks and Caicos Islands.

Would he cancel a democratic constitution in that country from one today to the another?

Would he close a democratic parlement with elected members in Turks and Caicos Islands?

Would he cancel the democratic elections,as a basic right for every human in this world?

Would he allow, that basic human rights would land in the sands or in the deep waters of ocean?

Would he let the Turks and Caicos Islander ,as real owner as this country,go down so massive with their heritage.

Would he allow, that international developers, which are investing 100 millions of Dollars or Pounds in this country ,would be driven away, with a result of 40 % jobless rate now in this country?

They are several other question marks in my thoughts .

You will find my answers to this deeply thoughts at the end of this news.

When I had these thoughts ,Prof.Ulke Deniz Aribogan wrote following about him and Mrs Cherie Blair after this event in Istanbul, which i would like to share with you, because you would also answer my above questions for your self after reading below statements.

September 11 attacks and the next effects of the U.S. war in Iraq people are discussing in academia and they had very intense media coverage all the around world, but the reflections on the United Kingdom was not explored too much.In England Blair was the most important actor in this process and with the war among ,the Blair government had to face severe repression in domestic and foreign politics. If one person carrying the responsibility of shouldering the burden of the negative reflections, along with George Bush, was Tony Blair, who had the green light for intervention in Iraq too. Blair became known as a man of Bush after his intervention in 2003,he has lost prestige and the people made harsh criticism. Both the Prime Minister and the Labor Party had to leave.

Blair moved the Labor Party to power after a lapse of 18 years had become the youngest person ever elected prime minister In UK since Lord Liverpool in 1812. When he got with his 43 years the prime minister, his social prestige and the belief in his personal leadership were much higher as the support for the party. His actual policies had huge impact in the world-level ,independent right or left.People redefined Liberalism, Keynesianism, many concepts such as social democracy with reference to him. Blairism had become, as an encyclopedic term, the most popular theme in the discourse.

For some people, Blair's style was nothing more than a Thatcherism, actually softened and dressed in trousers . In other words,it did not supply a new situation. However, some people saw in him the architect of an interesting blend with the right and left ,he was the theorist of a third road.Blair brought his Third Way in foreign policy field too.in his relations with the United States he didn't have the role of the router locker against USA such as Germany and France demonstrate against USA,he was instead ally. According to him, each set would be drawn against the U.S. would have caused a flip over and come up against themselves. To walk with him, would have meant a great weapon to get the situation into own hands. Iraq war, was a test for this.

Blair, as Bush's ally, paid in my opinion the price for the created negative reputation around the world about Bush . However, the Prime Minister, elected 3 times, was able to bring a more effective place of Britain's foreign policy during his period .He had decided to de-range te relation not only with U.S. and Russia, as well he was forming similar relationship with the EU . In terms of internal policy he brought new laws of the British Minimum Wage Law, Human Rights and Information law ,he approved regulations for acting of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland parliaments .He had an unexpected approach for IRA,which was sucking the blood of his country for years and has putted an end to IRA terror. Although the people criticized him for sitting on the table with terrorists,he was the man, who managed to stop the blood.

Istanbul Bilgi University hosted the previous day such a name. Blair is a member of the Middle East Quartet, uses his energy for such topics as the Israeli-Palestinian issue and Arab Spring .In his speech he was talking about opportunities and risks of globalization and the growing power of Turkey, about the world's axis shift to the East and the global economic problems .I would say,he got with his dynamism very positive critics and acceptance by the audience.

But I do want to open a paragraph or Cherie Blair. Leadership in today's world is something that two people were standing performance. Mrs Blair, the UK's one of the most important jurists. She is watching also the women's issues and human rights cases around the world. She had great information about the headscarf issue in Turkey, especially about women's problems. Cherie Blair's approach is quite striking in the difference between the depth of her thoughts and general discussions in Turkey. Everyone who attended the University of Istanbul Bilgi, liked Tony Blair, Cherie Blair, they admired both of them.

Now my answer to the questions about Premier Tony Blair and Turks and Caicos Islands and Dellis Cay.

When I was reading the article above from Prof.Ulke Deniz Aribogan,I was more convinced as before, that under Tony Blair the situation in Turks and Caicos Islands would be completely different as today.A man like him with a strong place in the history would not do it.
