Lahore: According to media report PML-N decided to reject the nomination of Fasih Bokhari as National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman. Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan wil inform their party decision sooner with letter to the presidency. This is extra constitutional act of Fasih’s nomination, according to the constitution Presidency must send three recommendations for crucial post, PML-N objection.

Earlier President Asif Zardari has picked Fasih Bokhari, a retired chief of naval staff admiral, as the new chief for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Indeed, it was the government’s failure to consult Chaudhry Nisar that led to the removal of the previous NAB chairman. Justice (retd) Syed Deedar Hussain Shah, who was initially nominated for the position, but the leader of the opposition did not concur with the choice. After the government went ahead regardless, Chaudhry Nisar sued the government in the Supreme Court (SC), which ultimately led to a ruling against the appointment.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday also expressed serious reservations over the nomination of Fasih Bokhari as chairman of the NAB.
