"Don't worry about the eyeball floating at the top of your drink, darling. It's edible ... candy.
And don't feel queasy about the 'Bloody Brain' you're about to slurp, darling; it's merely the name of the shot."
Trader Todd's, in the Chicago Lakeview neighborhood, celebrates the Halloween season with a "Creepy Cocktails" menu. Special cocktails include the "Monster Mash" and "The Bloody Brain," and garnishes include candy eyeballs, candy corn and gummy worms.
The juices that are in the cocktails are fresh-squeezed. The cocktails are a bit sweet and go down easily. Yet beware, these potent potables can creep up on you!
Here are a couple "Creepy Cocktail" recipes:
^^^ Monster Mash ^^^
-1 oz Pinnacle Vodka
-1 oz Jagermeister
-1 oz Amaretto
-1 oz Bacardi Coco
-Juice of 2 fresh squeezed oranges
*Build and shake in hurricane glass filled with ice. Garnish with orange slice, and candy eyeball.
^^^ Bloody Brain Shot ^^^
.75 oz Peach Schnapps
.25 oz Carolans Irish Crème
Dash of Grenadine
*Pour into a shot glass in order listed. The Irish Crème coagulates, to give a brain-like appearance, and the Grenadine makes it look bloody.
Other "Creepy Cocktails" on the menu: The Black Pearl, Candy Corn Martini, and Drag Me to Hell Martini.
