This is Neo Toilet Bike, a "moto-toilet" powered by biofuel from human waste. This tricycle, a kind of toilet with wheels, will travel during the month of October one thousand kilometers through the territory of Japan.
The power system is simple, said the company blog, and they explain this new system anaerobic bacteria transformed into biogas feces. The company announced that Nippon does not have a market at the moment but this prototype is an initiative to reduce carbon emissions by 50 percent.
The bike seems to have a giant roll of toilet paper on at the back end. There's even a small lavatory fit directly above the headlight like a hood decoration.
The motorist does have to take some protective actions such as wearing a headdress and not reading while piloting and fueling the vehicle.
The Toilet Bike Neo was launched on its original expedition on October 6 from Toto's H.Q. It will tour around to educate people on the company's green (and brown) initiatives.
Toto is Japan's main toilet bowl manufacture business. The toilet bike is actually part of a movement that Toto is marketing to decrease its CO2 releases by 50% in the next 6 years. The motorbike is on its way from Kyushu to Tokyo over the next month.
