Schools Division Superintendent Dr Ligaya Joy Monoto, CESO Vl led teaching and non teaching personnel in pre, elementary and secondary public and private schools in the entire division of Olongapo City who converged on October 05, 2011 at the Convention Center to celebrate "WORLD TEACHERS' DAY". It was a befitting celebration in honor and recognition of the devoted and deddicated efforts of teachers in moulding the youths which also, coincided with the 65th birthday celebration and retirement of Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Madam Noame Arzadon who said, "It hurts to say Goodbye but, I have to go". She also, recognized for the information of the audience that, "use of the venue of the divisionwide affair was given free" courtesy of the Mayor's Office.
There were vocal solo singing and group dancing contests with exciting prizes at stake. Also, there raffle draws with fabulous prizes sponsored by business establishments like K-Servico Appliance Center and Smart Communinations, both based in Olongapo City. The program add on gave much excitement to the teachers especially the winners.
Four (4) members of the City Council namely, Counciilors Hon. Edna Elane, Hon. Ed Piano, Hon. Marzan and Hon. Rodel Cerezo graced the event. Former Zambales Vice-governor & City First Lady Anna Marie Gordon keynoted the affair for and on behalf of City Mayor Hon. James "Bong" J. Gordon who was then, attending a meeting with President Noynoy C. Aquino in Malolos, Bulacan.
Later during the day, recognitions were given to teachers in all levels selected as outstanding. It was a celebration full of fun and merriments and it was an occasion to remember especially for those who are new in the and those who are about to retire and those retiring this year as well.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL TEACHERS IN THE DIVISION OF OLONGAPO CITY FOR THEIR UNSWERVING TASK OF EDUCATING THE YOUTH AND MOULDING THEIR CHARACTERS.
