A 14 year old boy was arrested in Bali for drug trafficking. Police reportedly found on him a small amount of marijuana when he was on vacation on the Indonesian island with his parents.
According to Indonesian law, the boy could be imprisoned for 12 years if convicted. It will then be trapped in the Kerobokan prison, alongside murderers, sex offenders and drug dealers.
The 14 year old boy was arrested after receiving a massage on the beach of Kuta. Police sources say he was carrying 6.9 grams of marijuana. He explained having purchased from a man who claimed not to have eaten all day and needed money for food,according to the "Daily Telegraph".
Indonesian laws are very strict about drug trafficking and the boycould be tried as an adult. If convicted, he could benefit from an unwritten rule that allows minors to receive only half of their sentence, six years.
The child is very stressed and in tears, his parents and his lawyerare very concerned for him. He is currently detained in a cell measuring three meters by three, with three to four peoplesuspected of drug trafficking. It must be presented to the prosecutor within 30 days.
