Power protests in Gujranwala

Clashes between protesters and police are continue in Gujranwala and other cities due to unscheduled loadshedding in the country. People have frustrated and angered with relentless power outages in the country, protesters pelted stones towards the police.

On Tuesday, in Gujranwala again people protested and damaged sign boards and braking the glass of vehicles and burnt tyres on the main road of the city.

Shops and business points remained closed as a result of traders' strike against the persistent electricity loadshedding.

Police used tear gas and air firing to disperse the people in different areas of the Gujranwala city.

The traders warned that they would stop paying their electricity bills in case the concerned authorities fail to improve power supply situation.

Hundreds of protesters carrying banners and black flags took to the streets to their anger against the worst power outages in the country's history.
