
On Friday, Hurricane Ophelia strengthened into Category 3 rapidly and expected to pass east of Bermuda. At exactly 11 a.m., winds blow 115 mph and said to be the 3rd major hurricane of the year.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami said the center of Ophelia was about 620 miles south-southeast of Bermuda, and was moving north-northwest at about 12 mph. It was expected to speed up and pass east of Bermuda on Saturday.
Ophelia already caused floodings and cut off several communities in Dominica. Some cars washed away and thousands of people were stranded. They also cancelled classes even government offices were closed. Flights were affected due to heavy rain,Canefield Airport was closed.
After passing in Bermuda, Ophelia will hit Newfounland, Canada by Monday as a tropical storm.
