An awareness campaign for various forms of blood cancer called Light the Night will be held in the coming week in Bargara. The event concentrates on educating people about the blood cancers like leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.
The people attending the event will be sharing their experiences in relation to the disease. The event is being organised by Leukaemia Foundation Wide Bay-Burnett. The Co-ordinator of the event Sue-Ellen Pitt stated that this is third time the event is being conducted in the region and this time colored lanterns will be lit instead of balloons.
The blue colored lanterns will be honoring the supporters of the event, the golden lanterns will be in the memory of those who died fighting blood cancer and the white lantern will be a tribute to all those people who suffered and survived blood cancer.
