The New York State Leadership council wishes to thank all those who signed petitions as well as called to influence a stay of deportation for Nadia and Nazmin. They also wish to correct a misinformation regarding Nadia and her mom. Her mom is married to a US resident and has three US born children and not Nadia.

Precisely, Nadia celebrates her 20th birthday tomorrow and this is, certainly, a welcomed gift for her. Today they met with NY ICE Field Office Director Christopher Shanahan who informed Aygul Charles that they had agreed to review the case. Charles is the lawyer designated by New York State Youth Council representing the two women.

Meanwhile, they are still prisoners under house arrest as it were since Nadia and her mother were subsequently ordered to be under supervision until ICE Director Shanahan passes the final verdict. What a shame! President Obama only yesterday reiterated that he cannot fix the immigration system all by himself neither can the democrats do it alone.

The blame game continues as the politrics is played. Who will bell the cat? No one wants to do it. The truth is that the billions of undocumented people in the US function to benefit the economy. So why fix something that is functional?
