The r3VOLution gets a Super PAC!

September 28, 2011 - Money and power go hand in hand in American politics, and there is no better example of it than the Super PAC's that are funding the 2012 elections.

Political strategist David Axelrod sees an uphill battle for President Obama in his bid for re-election and considers Super PAC money to be a major part of the issue. Axelrod "warned of a new "Gilded Age" in the United States in which special interests can use massive campaign donations to "buy" politicians," according to Reuters.

The super influence of Super PAC's was born after the Supreme Court ruled in early 2010 on Citizens United vs. FEC. The decision allows both foreign and domestic corporations to spend an unlimited amount of money on US political campaigns.

Thanks for the report Itobin.

This is why grass roots campaign funding is so important. I hope the DNC uses all their powers to get this going. I know I get numerous requests for small donations all the time.

Considering the fact that he's on the campaign trail right now, on a bus paid for with taxpayer money, doing fund raisers at every stop, we'll take any monetary support we can get to kick him the hell out...

If you truly believe that the right bought the 2010 elections, you need to expand your perspective. Nobody needed to buy the elections. People were pissed at Obama, just as they were pissed at George Bush in the previous administration;

there is no denying that money influences everything in the US political system. Elections are now a race to the fund raisers and lobbyists. i believe that with all my heart.
