Biggest 'Dark Knight' gripe

The Dark Knight has been a tremendous success breaking most box office records. Though it has been a big hit, it has not been immune from criticism. Some have criticized Batman of being Bush-like and others a confusing theme.

The most widely held gripe by movie goers has nothing to do with the above but rather "why Batman talks like the offspring of Clint Eastwood and a grizzly bear." When he is Bruce Wayne his voice is smooth as his looks. When he puts on the Batman outfit everything changes. His voice goes through a major transformation as dramatic as change from Bruce to Batman.

Most of the voice effect is really Bale's own doing. When he is Batman his voice is modulated to exaggerate the effect.
