Six Killed in Pakistan Mine Collapse

A large explosion caused the collapse of a marble mine in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Province of Pakistan, killing six people on spot and injuring another three. About 34 miners were rescued alive from the colapsed mines after the accident.

This unfortunate accident happened on Monday night. The cause of the explosion is being ascertained. An inquiry committee has been formed to look into the cause of the collapse of the mine and the safety measures adopted there.

Buner is located at about 108 km from the capital Islamabad. It is generally believed that the standard of safety measures at marble mines in Pakistan is good.
