Canada and Japan clash Tuesday (17:00 local French 6:00), in Napier, in Pool A match of the Rugby World Cup, with the aim to avoid finishing in last place.
Canada is fourth with four points, thanks to its victory over Tonga (25-20), ahead of Japan, fifth and last with no points.
Canadians will start with the advantage of the prognosis even if the coach New Zealander Kieran Crowley said: "There is not much difference between the two teams."

Japan, eager to leave the last place, will also seek to win his second World Cup success, the first back in 1991 against Zimbabwe. New Zealand coach John Kirwan has made two changes from the team beaten by Tonga (31-18).
Sione Vatuvei Talikavili Nozomu Fujita and replaced respectively by Itaru Taniguchi flanker and Kensuke Hatakeyama in pillar.
"We played very poorly against Tonga, everyone is aware and ready to make efforts to remedy the situation," said Kirwan, who will set the record for Tuesday attendance at World Cup matches (23): 11 as a player with the All Blacks and 12 as head coach of Japan.
After that meeting, Japan has finished its World Cup. Canada will play a final match against New Zealand, October 2, Wellington.
