Whew, what a nervy few days and our hearts and EFFORTs, along with prayers go out to those directly affected. Here is the latest update from Mr. Michael Padua. Be sure to sign on at his site!

Final Update from Michael Padua and the site Typhoon 2000; see the link below!

Typhoon 2000 provides timely updates to your phone or via email. Be sure to keep abreast of the projections for this latest storm. The report "Philippines: Bebeng: Put the Google Typhoon Gadget to work for you." provides a useful tool for blogs and websites. While I have not updated all the storms at this report: "Asia: Philippines: Amang & Bebeng are Gone. Songda-Chedeng is an Active Weather Threat: Are you Prepared?" please scroll down it for important safety measures and preparations to take!

inquirer news now reports that at least 8 are dead. Read here: ‘Pedring’ pummels Luzon; at least eight dead. This report via UPI Typhoon Nesat strikes Philippines reveals the sad effects of storms. Tree pruning is something that really needs to be looked at in areas where people live without the necessary machinery to maintain it themselves! Here is an excerpt: "The Philippine Star, citing radio reports, said at least five people had died in Manila and surrounding areas, located on the country's densely populated northern Luzon Island, where the storm, locally called Pedring, made landfall." It goes on to state that "Four of those killed were a woman and her grandchildren, who were buried inside their house after a wall collapsed on it in Manila's Valenzuela area Tuesday morning, the Star reported, and that the "The fifth victim, a mother, died after a tree fell on her home in Caloocan City, the report said. Her son was injured in the incident." Sadly, the death toll from landslides and the like is likely to rise. God bless their souls and bring strength to their family members.

Be sure to keep abreast with updates from friends and official sources and visit Michael Padua's site if you haven't adopted his updates yet. Here is the latest caution: "Residents and visitors along Luzon particularly Cagayan & Isabela should closely monitor the progress of NESAT (PEDRING)." & the projected timeline: "Projected Landfall Area (PLA): Isabela & Cagayan Provinces on Tuesday evening."

Thanks for your caution and preparation ahead of this storm!
