Pope Benedict XVI who is one his first official visit to his native country Germany, has met the victims of sexual abuse by Catholic Priests. During the meeting he expressed deep sorrow and concern with the victims.
The Pope met five of the victims for about half an hour and regretted the incident with them . He was full of compassion for the victims. According to a statement issued by the Vatican, the Pope was completly "shaken and moved" with what happened to the victims.
Among the victims who met Pope were two women and three men. The victims came from different parts of Germany. Pope assured them that the church was deeply concerned with the sexual abuse crimes and the matter is being looked into.
With the revelations of sexual abuse by the Catholic Priests the faith in the Roman Catholic Church was badly damaged in Germany. The Vatican is pinning hopes of a revival of faith after these meetings and the regret and deep sorrow expressed by the Pope.
