Sapporo City underpass

Hokkaido means Northern Sea Circuit and located on the top of Japan archipelagos. To our mind, it is on the north. Yet on the map it is sown on the eastern part, when you divide Japan in two parts. After the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station disaster, many foreign visitors especially from China and South East Asia stopped coming for fear of the radioactive contamination. For some geological and air current situation, Hokkaido is free from these threat. Even the last typhoons swerved the course , especially from Sapporo (population 1.9 million). Hokkaido is one of the best food supply centers of Japan with over 200% food productivity.

Last Sunday I moved in the same district, about 200m to a new apartment house. Even with this relatively little transfer, my walking pattern/route has been changed. Since the subway station is so close (only a several second reach), I gave my old bike to a friend and then today I decided to walk along Ohdori Street and then came to Ohdori Park where the Autumn Festa is grand open. As it was a national holiday, many people gathered around food corners and beer/wine stands. I was up to visit a friend’s oil-painting exhibition.

On the way back, I was walking the underpass, which commenced on March 12, the day after the 311 earthquakes/ tsunami. We had a little shake here in Sapporo with no major damages. I don’t know if you say ‘Autumn for Arts’, but for Japanese autumn means so. Other than that, we say ‘Autumn for appetite’ and ‘Autumn for Reading.’ Getting back to ‘Arts in Autumn,’ there along the underground passage, stone arts objects were on display and they were quite impressive as shown in the photos.

Please come visit Sapporo/Hokkaido. Girls are pretty and boys are hot (really?) Foods are great, which is true and I guarantee you.
