The International Olympic Committee president, Jacques Rogge, asked the BBC to deliver evidence of the allegations about secret payments from Azerbaijan to secure gold medals in London 2012.

The program of the British corporation Newsnight revealed that the country paid millions of dollars into the International Boxing Organization World Series Boxing (WSB).

"We take every allegation seriously," said Rogge.

For its part, the International Amateur Boxing Association, recognized by the IOC rejected claims by the BBC, but said it would investigate the matter.
