Peak hour traffic

It was afternoon peak hour traffic and commuters were crowded at the platforms waiting for their trains to arrive but – there was no train in sight. The total rail network had been thrown out of gear by a tiny pigeon.

The incident has been reported from Brisbane and it seems a pigeon ran into the high voltage wires and caused a short circuit that paralyzed the trains. There were delays of up to 3 hours in the city train services while the fault was repaired. In order to clear the rush, special buses were put on the roads.
