FAISALABAD, Pakistan (Sept. 22) – The police has reportedly detained a so-called magician, in Mureedwala – suburbs of Faisalabad, on account of burning Holy Qura’an and a case has been registered against him under Pakistan Penal Code – Section 295-B.
According to details available; the 45-year-old Akram, known as ‘magic master’ in his vicinity, went to graveyard on Tuesday with one of his client and started his ‘magical spells’ uttering unfamiliar words and sentences over a script of the Holy Qura’an.
At the end of his so-called magical spells he allegedly sets Holy Qura’an on fire, resulting his clients gone violent and started beating him. In the mean time more people and passers-by gathered there and also pounded accusing him insulting the Holy Book.
Someone from the crowd also called up the police who held the culprit and registered a case against him on the complaint of Muhammad Sarfraz, a resident of the area. Later on, Akram has been presented before the judicial magistrate of the area who ordered a judicial remand of 14 days and adjourned hearing for two weeks.
