Mr. Olympia 2011, Phil Heath is now one of the most recocgnized figure in the sports of professional bodybuilding. But, things werent always the same for him.
In his university days Heath used to play as a guard for the University of Denver men's basketball team from 1998 to 2002 and his teammates remember him as a defensive specialist. He averaged 1.3 points per game in his four years with the Pioneers and after playing he a total of 66 basketball games he quit his career as a hoopster and decided to focus on professional bodybuilding. Heath at that time wighed only 180 pounds.
Since than Phil Heath has never looked back. He made his first professional bodybuilding debut at the "Colorado Pro Championships 2006" and has never looked back. He grew leaps and bounds into the giant he is now and was quickly nicknamed "The Gift" and "The Next Big Thing."

Phil Heath has been featured in many fitness and magazine articles, including being featured on the cover of FLEX magazine. Heath currently resides in Denver, Colorado, and trains at Armbrust Pro Gym in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Phil has released three bodybuilding DVDs "The Gift", "The Gift Unwrapped", and "Journey to the Olympia."
Quite a long journey and succesfull journey for him.
