Declassified: The Taliban (Part 4)

Burhanuddin Rabbani, the Chairman of the Afghan High Peace Council, was killed in a suicide bomb attack in his house in Kabul. At that time he was reportedly in a meeting with two leaders of the Taliban.

Rabbani was the President of Afghanistan and was ousted by the Taliban in 1996 – he was the main political opposition in the country. In a recent religious conference in Iran, he had called on Muslim scholars to speak out against suicide attacks.
