www.ntvuganda.co.ug The Ministry of Water and Environment has began mobilizing negotiators ahead of the 17th session of Conference of parties (COP 17) on climate change due in Durban, South Africa later this year. The meeting's objective will be to create political will to tackle climate change in the country. About one billion shillings has been set aside for sensitizing the public on climate change prior to the Durban conference. It is hoped that the Durban conference will result into a comprehensive and legally binding global treaty to supplement or replace the Kyoto Protocol.
