KUALA LUMPUR,TUESDAY- THE circulation of the most prominent english news paper in the country down to earth compared to it's competitor, The Star.

The circulation of the New Straits Times currently is 90,000 copies compared to The Star 300,000 copies perday

It's Advertising Department, having a bad time to attract "more" businessman to advertise their products and business services in it's newspaper

On the other side of perspective, The Star is making the good money because it's advertising department had a good contact with the chinese business and and it's department generate incom tremendously to the company

according to political analyst which to be known unonymously, The News Straits Times is regarded and categorised as "main strem media" which pro the goverment

He said, in order to regain back readers confident, all editorial head, must be squizz off and let the new, fresh graduate editors run the news operation

Futhermore, editers of Straits Times, seems to be too close and "suck up" the goverment leaders and this attitudes is not relevant with the proffesion of Journalist

"A good journalist never take side, he is man in the middle of nowhere, never take any political stance, their job is to do reporting, without fear and favour," he said

Futhermore, the existing of "alternatife media",blogg make The New Straits Time getting unpopuler

The main reason NST failed to compete with The Star, is because instead of giving more reporting for opposition parties, most of chinese businessman prefer to advertise in the Star rather than New Straits Times

"Futhermore, english speaking and middle class society today differs from class society 30 or 20 years ago," he said

The New Straits Times must change their policy, he said, give more coverage to opposition coverage, the sales would increased drastically.
